For a newly installed heat pump:

• The meter trips: increase the limits of your energy plan with your energy supplier
• The circuit breaker trips: check that the right circuit breaker is installed and that the correct cable cross-section is used (refer to the heat pump manual).

For an older, previously-installed heat pump:

• The meter trips: increase the limits of your energy plan with your energy supplier.
• The circuit breaker trips: check the start-up condenser, it will probably need to be replaced. If this continues after the replacement, check that the correct circuit breaker has been installed and the correct cable cross-section is used (refer to the heat pump manual).
• The residual current circuit breaker trips: ask for a visit from a refrigeration specialist.
